FAST
(FIRST AID FOR SEVERE TRAUMA)
Role
Concept through delivery.
CHALLENGE
Partner with The Department of Homeland Security and The Red Cross on an awareness campaign for FAST, the first national STOP THE BLEED® course designed specifically for high school students. The key challenge being, how to take highly sensitive subject manner and present it in an accessible and inviting fashion.
SOLUTION
Our team quickly established that any and all imagery and messaging would stay far away from showing or even implying violence of any kind. We have an entire generation that has been traumatized from school violence and decided that the story of FAST, would be one of empowerment and opportunity. Everything from the color palette, to people’s expressions in selected footage, to the soundtrack was chosen to imply a sense of optimism and hope. The story centered around the idea that as high school students, they had been given raw resources their entire lives, “We taught them to read, and challenged them to learn.” FAST, should be a continuation on this journey. “Now, we will teach them skills, that empower them to save.”
